The Cricket Network (TCN) is an international company consisting of sporting, media and business development expertise founded for the design, development and operation of a global cricket sports network.
More specifically TCN was established to construct and operate digital infrastructure for an international cricket channel and web-portal, develop cricket related content and identify, digitalize and manage archival and contemporary broadcast footage.
The founding partners of TCN have extensive experience and qualifications in broadcasting, the web, media and advertising, sports marketing and management, entertainment and the law. Additionally the partners have worked extensively in Asia, US and Europe.
TCN sees the convergence of telecommunications and media as rapidly transforming the sports media playing field. The growth and access to the internet, broadband, mobile phones with SMS, MMS, and 3G and hand-held devices are key distribution tools to bring cricket (not just game coverage, but cricket entertainment) closer to cricket fans.

TCN is partnering with the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India to design, build and operate the BCCI’s web-portal.
TCN has brought together media, technology and sporting expertise from around the world to assist in launching what is likely to become the leading global sports network. With a specific charter to embrace all of India’s 1.1 billion cricket fans, the BCCI plans for its web-portal to be the home of Indian Cricket.
TCN has selected as its preferred technology partner Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SUNW – News) to provide IT infrastructure solutions and support for the implementation of the company’s digital asset management system that will power the BCCI’s web-portal. This approach will facilitate multi-distribution by way of cable & satellite, audio, hand-held and future devices of the web-portal’s cricket and lifestyle content. |
